Did You Know?

The major Queensland zoo Sunshine Coast tourist attraction also operates one of the world’s largest and busiest on-site wildlife hospitals which also houses the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit and its rescued patients. The unit collects injured, sick and orphaned native animals reported within South-East Qld via the 24-hour Wildlife Emergency Hotline +1300 369 652.

Other initiatives include the Adopt An Animal program, grey nurse shark east coast conservation program, koala research program, even a Crocodile Research division operatingin partnership with Wildlife Warriors and the University of Queensland (UQ), amongst other local, nationwide and global conservation endeavours ranging from protecting Cambodian elephant habitats from destruction, to funding training for Sumatran tiger protection.

You’ll find Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo located about 25 minutes from Caboolture, 45 minutes from Redcliffe, 1 hour from Samford, and 1 hour 20 minutes from the heart of Brisbane.

From the Sunshine Coast

About 25 minutes from Caloundra, 45 minutes from Mooloolaba, and 55 minutes from Noosa.

For your convenience, courtesy bus transfer services to local train stations are provided by the Queensland zoo Sunshine Coast tourist attraction.

Sunshine Coast Zoo Bus Transfer Timetable - Monday to Friday

1:18pm: Connection with 2:05pm train at Caboolture Train Station. Queensland Rail Bus pick-up from bus stop in the first car park.

2:40pm: Connection with 3:07pm train at Beerwah Train Station. Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus pick-up in front of Admissions.

3:20pm: Connection with 3:41pm train at Beerwah Train Station. Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus pick-up in front of Admissions.

4:33pm: Connection with 5:05pm train at Caboolture Train Station. Queensland Rail Bus pick-up from the bus stop located in the first car park.

5:33pm: Bus transfer to train – all stations from Beerwah to Caboolture. Please enquire with Admissions staff where the pick-up location can be found.
